Testing a Car Battery

You don't want the bad experience of your car not starting when you have to get somewhere in a hurry. It's important to make sure that your battery is in good condition so your car will start properly. One way to check the condition of the battery is to test the charge.

To test the battery, use a device called a voltmeter. Before testing, make sure that your car and the lights are turned off. You will need to place the red colored clamp on the red battery terminal and the black clamp on the black terminal. If your battery has adequate charge, the reading on the voltmeter will be 12.4 volts or greater.

If you need your battery tested or replaced, you can come to First Choice Honda. The service department can easily check your battery, and they can install the battery that will work the best in your vehicle.
